Anthem Statement P5 vs MCA 525 Gen 2
Both provide five matching Anthem channels, but they solve different rack, loudspeaker and headroom requirements.
Statement P5
Five-channel true multi-mono Class AB architecture rated at 325 W/8Ω or 500 W/4Ω with one or all channels driven. Its separate channel supplies, current capability and substantial chassis suit demanding LCR and bed-layer loudspeakers.
MCA 525 Gen 2
Five-channel Class AB architecture rated at 225 W/8Ω, with a toroidal supply, balanced XLR/RCA inputs and Anthem Load Monitoring. It is the more practical choice where the speakers do not require Statement-level reserve.
Choose according to the room
Choose the P5 for difficult loads, greater acoustic headroom and genuinely high simultaneous-channel output. Choose the MCA 525 Gen 2 when 225 W per channel comfortably satisfies the sensitivity, distance and target-level calculation and lower weight, heat and cost matter.
Installation implications
The P5 places greater demands on rack support, passive ventilation and electrical provision. Either model still needs processor gain matching, verified speaker impedance and useful reserve above the calculated programme peaks.
