Privacy notice

This notice explains how personal information submitted to HomeCinemaAmplifiers.co.za is handled under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Responsible party

Elevate Living (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for personal information collected through HomeCinemaAmplifiers.co.za. Its service address is 24 Union Avenue, Pinelands, Cape Town, Western Cape, 7405. Privacy enquiries, access requests, corrections and objections may be sent to amp@homecinemaamplifiers.co.za.

Information we collect

When you submit an enquiry, we may collect your name, email address, optional telephone number, optional town or region, product interests, and the room or system information you choose to provide. Basic server security logs may record technical information such as an IP address, browser type, requested page and time of access. Please do not send payment details, passwords or unnecessary sensitive personal information.

Purpose and source

We collect information directly from you to answer the enquiry, understand the proposed room or system, recommend suitable equipment or related services, maintain correspondence, prevent abuse and meet applicable legal obligations. Supplying enquiry information is voluntary, but we cannot respond without a valid name, email address and message.

Grounds for processing

Depending on the context, information is processed with your consent, to take steps at your request before a possible agreement, for legitimate website-security and recordkeeping purposes, or because the law requires it. Enquiry information is not used for unrelated direct marketing unless you separately request or consent to that communication.

Recipients and product-sourcing enquiries

Information may be handled by authorised personnel and service providers that supply website hosting, email, security or professional support. If an enquiry requires confirmation from a manufacturer, distributor, local representative or international supplier, we will avoid sharing identifying information unless it is reasonably necessary to progress the request. We do not sell personal information.

Cross-border processing

International suppliers or service providers may process limited information outside South Africa when necessary for sourcing, email, hosting or professional support. Where POPIA requires it, we will use recipients subject to a law, agreement or binding rules that provide an adequate level of protection, or another lawful basis for the transfer.

Retention and security

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the enquiry, any resulting business relationship, security, dispute resolution and legal recordkeeping. Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used, including validation and abuse controls on the enquiry form, but no internet or email transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your rights

Subject to POPIA and PAIA, you may ask whether we hold your personal information, request access or correction, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where consent is the basis, or request deletion where retention is no longer justified. Requests may require identity verification and may be subject to lawful limitations or prescribed fees.

Complaints

Please contact us first so that we can try to resolve a concern. You may also contact the Information Regulator (South Africa) at enquiries@inforegulator.org.za, telephone 010 023 5200, or use its eServices portal.

Cookies and analytics

The launch version of this website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. A strictly necessary session cookie may be used temporarily when the enquiry form is submitted to reduce repeat spam submissions. If non-essential analytics or marketing technology is introduced, this notice and appropriate consent controls must be updated before it is enabled.

PAIA and changes

Our access-to-information details appear in the PAIA manual. This notice may be updated when the website’s processing or legal requirements change; the current version and revision date will remain on this page.
